Resources For Dads
We want to encourage you on your unique journey as a dad raising these amazing individuals with special needs or chronic illness.
Below you will find the resources and offerings that we have at Rising Above that will encourage you on your journey as a dad raising an individual with special needs or chronic illness.
Common Man, Extraordinary Call
Thriving as the Dad of a Child with Special Needs
It was Jeff Davidson’s dream to help empower and equip the special needs community. He was especially interested in helping the fathers of children with special needs. His own journey as a special-needs dad was the making of him as a man, and he believed it could be for others as well.
Before his untimely death in 2017, he began to write a field guide for fathers – a manual to help them navigate this often overwhelming journey. Jeff’s wife, Becky Davidson, had the honor of helping to complete his last message to the special needs community he so dearly loved. We hope you will read the book and make use of these tools so that your journey will be easier and your load lighter.

An Event for Dads
Base Camp is a father-focused weekend event intended to support and encourage special-needs dads. Guys come together and relate about the challenges and adventures unique to this life. The goal is to create a space for dads to rest, reconnect, and recharge.
