"Surviving Life's Storms" Week 2 (Tuesday)
Good Morning!
In yesterday’s video I shared that one of the things we try to do in the midst of trials is to be thankful.
1. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
“Be thankful inallcircumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
What helps you find something in every situation for which you can give thanks? Do you struggle to find ways? Why is it critical to be thankful when the storms hit?
2.Have you discovered certain triggers in your life that make the choice of being thankful in the midst of the storms more difficult (lack of sleep, meltdowns, etc.)?
3.Recall a recent storm you weathered and share an example of something you found to be thankful for our joyful about even in the midst of the storms.
4. Read Romans 5:3-5
“3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
What does this verse tell us about facing trials? How can these verses strengthen us as special-needs parents?
5. What are ways you have learned to find joy in the storm?
