Our Fall in Review

This fall at Rising Above has been full to the brim!  We have met new friends, enjoyed time with old ones, hosted events close to home as well as several miles away, and began to celebrate the holidays with our local Rising Above families.  Here are some highlights from the past few weeks...

October began with An Evening at Brookside - a one-night event for mothers, grandmothers, and female caregivers of individuals with special needs.  New Vision Baptist Church partnered with us to bring this event to Murfreesboro for the first time.  We enjoyed a delicious meal, wonderful fellowship, encouraging worship, and an inspiring message from our Murfreesboro Connect Group leader and new staff member Kandra Benton.  Look for more of these events coming in 2018, as we take An Evening at Brookside to more locations!

The very next day our annual Fall Festival was once again hosted in partnership with Christ Community Church at the Malone Farm.  This is always a favorite event for our families as we paint pumpkins, go on hayrides, and share a meal together.  The weather was perfect and it was a great day.  We are so grateful for the hospitality of the Malone family and Christ Community!

November brought the beginning of holiday festivities, starting with our Thanksgiving Dinner!  This year's dinner was well attended and everyone enjoyed the meal and time of fellowship.  It is always such a gift to get to share holiday celebrations with our local families.

What a great fall it's been!  As we look forward we have a busy month in store at Rising Above, full of Christmas events especially for our local special-needs families.  We are so grateful to our donors and volunteers who make events like these possible, and enable us to bring the love of God and hope in Christ to special need families both locally and away from Cookeville.  Here's to a beautiful December ahead!
