Rising Above Ministries' Wait for the Light is a FREE devotional created for families with special needs or chronic illness.
We hope this simple guide will be a tool that fosters wonder, comfort, and delight in your home because of God's amazing story - whether you are observing Advent for the first time, or the fiftieth. As you set aside time to celebrate the past arrival of Jesus, and anticipate His coming again, we pray the roots of your family's faith in the person of Christ - our Emmanuel - grow deeper than ever before.
The first Sunday of Advent this year (2023) is Sunday, December 3rd. You could begin this series that evening; however, you do not have to begin on a Sunday. Each section is designed to have an opening devotional that includes the first lighting of that week's candle, followed by 3 simple devotionals to be done throughout the next week on the days or evenings that work for you. These sessions include Bible readings, songs, discussion questions, and prayers to pray together. Each devotional stands alone, so you can do as many of them as you want, at whatever pace your family prefers. This series concludes with a final Christmas Day devotional.
After you “purchase” this devotional, you will receive the FREE downloadable pdf.
