Special Needs ministry training for Churches
Rising Above offers For Jonathan’s Sake Workshop for churches to send teams, staff, and volunteers. During the workshop, churches learn Disability Ministry 101, steps to developing a disability ministry, volunteer training and development, steps to become a Luke 14 Church, and leave equipped and resourced to begin implementation of inclusion practices. At a For Jonathan’s Sake Workshop your ministry team will learn how to incorporate individuals with special needs and serve their families in your current ministries as well as with new opportunities.
Our goal is to equip churches for engaging special-needs families in all aspects of their church ministries and programming. We call the fully-inclusive church, “The Luke 14 Church.” Special needs ministry is more than just children’s ministry and/or respite care. The Luke 14 Church engages the special-need family with a variety of programming and ministries for all members of the family.
For Jonathan’s Sake Workshops include training on the ISP, Individual Spiritual Plan, which will revolutionize a church’s ability to minister to those with special needs and disabilities, including all family members.
